Chip Golden owns Pet Stop of Columbus, together with his wife Sandi. Having grown up in New Jersey, he furthered his education at Muskingum College in Ohio, where he earned a degree in Music Education. Chip taught music in the Zanesville City School systems for five years. This then led him to a 3-year period of playing music professionally. Chip then followed his passion for dogs and became a dog trainer.
Chip has worked with Police Dogs, trained Wahlea, a wolf at the Columbus Zoo, and thousands of dogs and their owners in multi-behavioral areas for over 43 years. He has 2 very spoiled dogs; Khyber his Belgian Tervuren, and Rocky his very spoiled Pomeranian mix. In Chip's spare time, he is obsessed with Yankee baseball, never misses The Ohio State Buckeyes, and goes skiing with his family whenever possible.
Chip has been in the pet fence arena for 31 years. Obviously, his involvement with pet behavior has been an asset to his clients that no other competitor may offer. “Thank goodness I got PET STOP in Feb 2017, Chip & Sandy are wonderful people to work with. Chip came out and trained my dog to the fence. I have not had 1 problem with my Dobie running through the fence.She is free to run at Liberty on 2 acres or more. I get my batteries right away from Sandy. Now for my story. My neighbor decided to get an invisible fence for his part husky/ chow/ G.S. , he went with a different fence company. Before the Invisible fence this dog has been over to my house chasing and biting my horse. I have been polite to my neighbor and kindly asked him to contain his dog. Thank goodness the horse has not been hurt (just a matter of time). Today his dog ran thru the Invisible fence, took them an hour to catch him. Mean while I had to lock the horse in the barn & keep dogs in the house. Not a happy camper!!!!
